HANDS UP, HANDS ON

Improvisation conducted by the audience.

It is fun to look at improvising musicians. It is even better to have an influence on what is happening .replica handbags At this concert the audience, whatever age, will be invited to take up on the roll of the conductor. With all kinds of everyday means you can direct a group of improvising musicians, inspire and influence them and in this way create your own composition.

Especially when they are improvising you can see directly how musicians communicate with eachother. Sometimes under the guidance of a conductor but very often without. The musical language that musicians speak is intriging and fascinating. Partly based on aural agreements, an even bigger part consists of non-verbal communication. With this a balance is created in the group with space for collective parts and individual improvisations. The common goal is to achieve an interesting musical result.

Who does not dream of being the conductor and be a part of such a musical event? Or even be able to create the music on the spot in what we call "instant composing"!

In "Hands up, Hands on the audience, whatever age, will be invited to take up on the roll of the conductor. Step by step you get the opportunity to guide a group of improvising musicians, inspire and influence them and in this way create your own composition. Verbal, but also non-verbal communication plays an important role. In this way every conductor will create your his or her own composition. He or she is part of the musical proces and at the same time the designer of it.
Questions that will arise are: What do I want? How do I get my ideas across? Creativity, guts, listening, convincing, taking risks, timing, are all skills that are needed here in a non-everyday way.
The participating musicians are all internationally acclaimed professionals, working in the field of jazz- and improvised music. The whole event is guided by vocalist Ineke van Doorn and guitarist/composer Marc van Vugt.
